Seasonal Summer Wedding Flowers

When summer arrives, the flower farm and the fields come alive with abundance, colour, and the kind of soft beauty that makes our hearts swell. At Foraged Florals, we believe flowers should feel like they belong—to the land, the moment, and most of all, to you. That’s why we lean into what’s in season and what grows well in our climate. Summer weddings are bursting with options, and if you’re planning yours with sustainability and intention in mind, these are our favourite seasonal flowers to help tell your love story.

Peonies: A Timeless Symbol of Romance

Peonies, with their extravagant ruffles and intoxicating fragrance, are pure romance. They symbolize prosperity, love, and a happy marriage—what more could you ask for as you step into this next chapter? Many of my peonies have traveled with me for over forty years, like dear old friends who have grown and changed alongside me. Their roots, strong and deep, remind me of the kind of love that stands the test of time, growing more beautiful with each passing year—just like the journey you're beginning together.

Anemonies: The Glow of Everlasting Joy

Anenomie, those soft, fleshy blooms speak of charm and radiant attraction. There’s a lightness to them, a joy that feels effortless—like the laughter you share, the glances that need no words, the feeling of being home in each other’s arms. They dance in bouquets, catching the light and giving it back, perfect for weaving into your bridal arrangements or joyful tablescapes.

Yarrow: Sweet and Simple Beginnings

Yarrow offers something quieter, more grounding. With its earthy scent and clustered heads, it blends seamlessly into natural arrangements and adds a lovely textural note. Often golden yellow or soft pink in summer, it symbolizes healing and resilience. We love including yarrow for couples who’ve weathered storms together and want their wedding flowers to reflect the depth of their journey.

Dahlias: Symbols of Strength and Grace

Dahlias are the darlings of summer—vivid, lush, and available in a wide range of colors, from sunset tones to creamy whites and dusty blushes. Locally grown and abundant, dahlias are a sustainable showstopper. They’re perfect for couples who want bold beauty with a bit of drama and grace. We often pair them with feathery grasses or trailing vines to soften their strength. A dahlia says: I’m not afraid to bloom big.

Queen Anne's Lace: Delicate & Elegant

Delicate but strong, Queen Anne’s Lace is a favorite for woodland weddings. It grows wild near our venue, and we carefully forage it in a way that encourages future blooms. For couples who want their wedding to feel like a walk through the meadow, this flower is a whisper of romance. Its lacy crown is perfect for softening arrangements and adding a little whimsy.

Cosmos: Beauty and Depth

Cosmos are all heart—simple, airy, and light. Their fluttery petals dance in the breeze and remind us not to take anything for granted. We grow cosmos in soft whites, pinks, and deep burgundy and this lovely double bloom. They’re ideal for couples who lead with love and value meaning over flash. A cosmos says: We’re here for beauty, but we’re also here for depth.

Your Dream Wedding, Surrounded by Seasonal Blooms

Every flower we use in summer is grown or foraged with care—no  chemicals, no overnight shipping, no floral foam, and no single use plastic. We design each bouquet to reflect the land and the love that surrounds it. If you’re dreaming of a summer wedding that feels natural, soulful, and deeply personal, we’d love to walk that path with you.

Now, if you’re a summer-loving couple looking for something near Halifax and little different—something real, rooted, and wildly beautiful—let me tell you about The Bower. It’s our tucked-away woodland venue here on the flower farm, and it's honestly my favorite place to see love stories unfold.
We built The Bower for couples like you—who want a wedding that’s less about the production and more about the connection. Whether you’re dreaming of a barefoot ceremony under the canopy, a wildflower-lined aisle, or a long table feast where birds sing in the background and joy feels as abundant as the blooms—we’ll bring it to life together.

Let's Bring Your Floral Vision to Life

At Foraged Florals, we believe your wedding flowers should tell your love story in the most beautiful way possible. Whether you're planning an intimate garden ceremony or a joyful celebration at The Bower, we’d love to create something uniquely you—flowers grown with love, gathered with intention, and designed to reflect everything your relationship is.
